McNabb Speaks Out

If the ultimate testing ground for performance apparel is the NFL, then the ultimate tester is the NFL player himself. As the Pro Bowl quarterback of the Philadelphia Eagles and a Reebok endorser, Donovan McNabb has been on the front lines of the recent developments of Reebok's NFL Equipment line. McNabb

recently spoke with SGB about what he and his teammates look for in performance apparel while on the field, and what they want in the future.

SGB: How much feedback do you give to Reebok's designers and to the NFL about the NFL Equipment line?

McNabb: We actually give a lot of feedback. We wear it so we want it to be good. The Reebok people are in touch with me every week or so to ask about the stuff.

SGB: What's your opinion of the current line?

McNabb: It is very comfortable. That's important to me. When you have it on under your other equipment, it feels like you have nothing on because it moves the sweat away from you but it keeps your body warm.

SGB: What are the top three things you look for in performance apparel?

McNabb: First is comfort. You want to feel good. Second is a nice material that doesn't feel itchy. Third would be performance and durability. But it is really the whole deal, not just style and performance alone.

SGB: Do you ever wear the NFL Equipment gear off of the football field?

McNabb: Sure, I like wearing it at home when I'm feeling casual.

SGB: Do you like the line better for its performance or its looks?

McNabb: It's nice to look good, but it's most important for the gear to perform and feel good.
