Upper Deck To Use Digimarc Technology On Sports Trading Cards
TUALATIN, OR - The Upper Deck Co. has signed a worldwide exclusive licensing agreement with Digimarc Corp. (Nasdaq: DMRC), a provider of digital watermark technology and applications, to use Digimarc MediaBridge technology on its sports trading cards.
Imperceptible digital watermarks
embedded in the trading cards will enable collectors to directly link to exclusive Web content.
Upper Deck plans to release its first trading cards bearing this technology in June. They will be sold at hobby shops and mass-merchandise retail outlets.
