DuPont Announces Easy Set Lycra: New Fiber For Ready-to-Wear And Intimate Apparel Market
WILMINGTON, DE - DuPont unveils Easy Set Lycra, a new elastane that brings improved quality and efficiency to circular knit and woven fabrics. Specifically designed for use with heat sensitive fibers such as cotton, rayon, wool, nylon and Tencel, Easy Set Lycra is one of the first in a series of new
products that will provide innovation to the marketplace and competitive advantage to members of the Lycra Assured network, according to the company.
Fabrics made with Easy Set Lycra can be heatset at lower temperatures than those made with standard elastanes. In certain blends, such as nylon/Lycra or wool/Lycra, this translates into fabrics with clearer colors and whiter whites. Cotton blends can be fully set without scorching, producing clean finished fabrics with excellent dimensional stability. And, as a result of less exposure to heat, many fabrics exhibit a softer hand.
DuPont partnered with more than 30 Lycra Assured mills around the world to test and refine Easy Set Lycra.
