Hi-Tec Taps Industry Veteran As New Prez/CEO
ATEC: Larry Leukhardt has been appointed director of sales for the team division.
BALLY TOTAL FITNESS: Jason Conviser, Ph.D, vice president of clinical services, has been named a fellow of the American College of Sports Medicine

(ACSM).
BRAVO CORP.: The parent company of Hyper, Kryptonics and the Hub has consolidated its sales forces into a unified sales network with a goal of enhancing dealer service. As part of the reorganization the company has put regional sales managers in place to support sales reps.
DOLMITE: Dan McKenna has been named national sales manager, and Mike Curtis was named product manager. Both McKenna and Curtis come from Tecnica, which recently acquired the company.
FILA: John Salamunovich has been appointed business unit manager for golf, tennis, outdoor and winter sports. Salamunovich will be responsible for the overall product design, development, marketing, sales and branding for the units.
FOGDOG SPORTS: Tim Harrington has added the duties of CEO to his role as president of the company-which changed its name from sportsite.com in November. Concurrently, Brett Allsop, company co-founder and board chairman has been named president of the newly-created international division.
FOOTACTION USA: John R. Lukas has been appointed to the newly-created position of senior vice president of marketing.
FRISBY TECHNOLOGIES INC.: Duncan R. Russell has been named director of global strategy. Russell had been with 3M for the past 25 years, serving most recently as marketing operations and international manager of the insulation products division.
G.I. JOE'S: Brian Allen has been named corporate controller. Mike Vanier has also been added as Portland district manager.
HUFFY SPORTS CO.: Jeff Breitzman has been promoted to director of product engineering and technology. Most recently, he held the position of product engineering manager.
HI-TEC SPORTS USA: Jonathan Caplan has been tapped as the company's president and CEO. Caplan, who received an MBA from Vanderbilt Universit, join's the company with over 20 years of experience in the footwear and retail industries including a stint with Stride Rite Corp. as president of its children's group as well as its Ked's division. Caplan also worked at Genesco for over 10 years, including seven years as president of its Laredo Boots division. Most recently, he has been a principal with Westway Ventures in Nashville, TN, spearheading potential acquisitions and strategic investment opportunities.
LIFE FITNESS: Dennis Pickrel, vice president of global services has been named president and chairman of the board for the Association For Services Management International (AFSMI), a trade association for customer service professionals.
MAJOR LEAGUE BASEBALL: In conjunction with ongoing restructuring of MLB's central office, Tim Brosnan has been promoted to Senior VP of domestic and international propertie, and Kathy Francis has been promoted to VP of marketing.
MIZUNO: The company has restructured its diamond sports and footwear/apparel sales organization, designating specialists for each category. The reorganization brings the number of diamond sports specialists to 14, while 10 specialists will be dedicated to running footwear and apparel. Another eight will carry product lines from both divisions and independent reps will cover Hawaii and Puerto Rico.
NIKE: Ronald P. Wolfram has been named vice president of strategic planning, succeeding Fritz Van Paasschen who was recently appointed vice president/GM of the Americas region. On the golf side, Chris Zimmer has been named director of global marketing for Nike Golf Co. In a related move, Rob DeFlorio has been named advertising director for Nike U.S., after serving in the same position for Nike Europe.
PRECOR: Bill Setter has been promoted to director of operations at Pacific Fitness. Also, Jeanine Rossell has been named the new public relations manager for the company.
PRO FEET, INC.: Taylor L. Wilson has been named merchandise manager for athletic socks.
RUSSELL ATHLETIC: Anita Booe has joined the company as vice president and CFO. Additionally, Bill Sotis was appointed vice president of marketing.
SGMA: Doug Kelly has been elected vice chairman of the board of trustees. Kelly is president and COO of Fruit of the Loom sports & licensing division and Pro Player, Inc. Additionally, Jess Heald of Worth Inc., Tim Joyce of Nike and Reebok International's Bill Sweeny have been appointed to the board.
SUNBEAM CORP.: Michael T. Gillen has been appointed president, outdoor cooking; David Mitchell has been named president, licensing.
TIMBERLAND: Lisa McPherson has been appointed senior vice president of global marketing, and Dave Pompel-formerly of Adidas-was named GM of performance footwear.
WORTH, INC.: Mark Barry was designated vice president at the company's board of directors meeting. Most recently, Barry had served as vice president of sales for Worth Sports, a position he was appointed to in 1995.
YAGA, INC.: Jeanne Troyanek has been asked to head-up design for the Yaga Swim and California Proline collections.
