Inter Parfums and Quiksilver signed an exclusive worldwide license agreement for the creation, development and distribution of fragrance, sun care, skin care and related products under the Roxy brand and sun care and related products under the Quiksilver brand. The contract runs through December 2017.
Inter Parfums' Paris based subsidiary, Inter Parfums, SA, will develop entirely new product categories for each of the two brands, which are important brands for the global youth market and synonymous with the heritage and culture of surfing, skateboarding and snowboarding. Initial plans call for the first new product line under the agreement, a Roxy fragrance family, to be introduced in late 2007, followed by a Quiksilver sun care line.
Bernard Mariette, president of Quiksilver, stated, "With the signing of the license agreement with Inter Parfums, we are adding a new dimension to our strategic vision for our brands, which truly have come to represent a global lifestyle for youth and outdoor sports. Roxy, which has always stayed true to its roots in boardriding, has a high level of authenticity as a sports-inspired brand, but with a very feminine expression of style. This is evident in the products we develop and is at the core of our success. This makes this new venture a natural extension for Roxy, and we know that Inter Parfums will fully understand our customer as it creates personal care and beauty products. Similarly, we believe that the Quiksilver brand lends itself to a variety of personal care products, particularly in the suncare category, that we expect to be well received. For over a decade, Inter Parfums has been highly successful developing and growing fragrance and related beauty programs for its licensees, each with their own DNA and target audience. I feel we have placed our brands in the best of hands with Inter Parfums."
