Nike Golf Boosts Support For PGA Show

Taking advantage of the absence of some major club manufacturers at the upcoming PGA Merchandise Show in January, Nike Golf will increase its activities there. Nike Golf will make significant modifications to its exhibition strategy at the 2004 PGA Merchandise Show in Orlando next January.

For the 2004 PGA Merchandise Show, Nike Golf will focus its efforts on reaching current and potential customers through participation in several new attendee programs and most importantly, through product testing within the many hands-on activities that the PGA Merchandise Show now offers. Nike Golf's participation will include:

1) Sponsorship of the chipping and ping section of the 19th Hole at the PGA Merchandise Show exclusively featuring Nike Golf products. Chipping and putting contests within the Nike Golf-ponsored rea will serve as a fundraiser for The PGA of America's PGA Foundation.

2) Hitting bays within the Equipment Testing Center, which makes its debut at the 2004 PGA Merchandise Show. The ETC is an indoor driving range in Hall A of the Orange County Convention Center.

3) Hitting berths at the PGA Merchandise Show Demo Day at the Orange County National Golf Center and Lodge in Winter Garden on January 28. The Demo Day proved to be a tremendous success for Nike Golf in 2003, its second PGA Merchandise Show as a golf club manufacturer. Nike Golf will have space on the demo range as well as at the chipping
area and on the putting green.

4)Presentation of Nike Golf's and Fashion Fairway.

5) Sponsorship of the new Pro-Pro Tournaments, designed exclusively for PGA members.

Nike Golf's US GM Dave Pillsbury said the golf industry's ever-changing product introduction cycles as one reason the golf company is changing its traditional approach at the industry's largest annual merchandise show. "While we will utilize the PGA Merchandise Show to promote key
introductions and initiatives, we think we will best reach our customer base this year by investing in interactive product demonstrations and multiple points of contact at various show events and programs."

Pillsbury noted that Nike Golf will continue to host meetings and conduct business at the Show. "We simply are redefining our show goals and executing new strategies that more effectively impact our business and our customers. We think it will result in a great show for Nike Golf
and Nike Golf customers."
