Skechers Signs Apparel License For Children's

Skechers USA tapped Kids Headquarters as its licensee for Skechers-branded boys' and girls' activewear and sportswear in the U.S. Skechers children's apparel, including outerwear and coordinating headwear, will be launched for the 2003 back-to-school selling season.

"Skechers Kids apparel is an exciting new 'growth spurt' opportunity, both for our company as well as children who love Skechers footwear," said Michael Greenberg, president of Skechers USA. "The new Skechers apparel will enable boys and girls to dress from head to toe in Skechers-branded items as they grow into our adult footwear lines, and is an excellent entree for Skechers into the apparel industry as we look to explore additional apparel licensing avenues among our diverse product lines."

Under this relationship, Kids Headquarters will design and distribute children's tops and bottoms in denim, woven and knit materials, as well as coordinating outerwear and headwear using select Skechers logos. Available in boys' sizes 4 to 20 and girls' sizes 4 to 16, the apparel will be launched to the industry at MAGIC in February, and will be showcased at the newly designed Skechers Kids apparel showroom at Kids Headquarters' offices in New York City.

As part of the agreement, Kids Headquarters will aggressively promote, advertise and market Skechers apparel for children. Skechers will also promote the apparel in connection with its advertising for Skechers Kids footwear. All Skechers Kids apparel point of purchase, marketing and advertising will be consistent with Skechers' style. Skechers presently advertises its Kids footwear in print publications and on leading children's television networks.
