The
National Enquirer is reporting that disgraced football legend and low-speed chase veteran O.J. Simpson "confesses to the bloody slaughter of his ex-wife Nicole Simpson and her pal Ron Goldman?and reveals he had an accomplice at the scene?in a bombshell new book" titled
If I Did It.
In a report from today's
Enquirer, the tabloid claims Simpson scored a $3.5 million deal "to describe the brutal knife attack blow-by-blow." The paper goes on to quote a "West Coast source familiar with the top-secret book project" as saying: "Only that kind of money could have tempted O.J. to finally tell the truth."
The
Enquirer reports the book's publication is "only weeks away," and that its existence has been kept highly secretive. The paper goes into detail about the book's contents, describing early chapters in which Simpson "paints a vivid picture of his life with Nicole and details their bitter divorce amid her affairs."
The book then moves on to the night the double murder.
The Enquirer''s secret source is quoted as saying that "O.J. prefaces these key pages by almost half-heartedly claiming this part of the book is hypothetical." The tab wraps up its account of
If I Did It by writing that "Simpson's account of the slayings is so chillingly realistic that it leaves no doubt it is a confession of what really happened." Finally, it implores enquiring minds to read "O.J.'s shocking description of the blood-curdling butchery?exclusively in this week's National ENQUIRER?on sale at newsstands everywhere!"
