New Book: Police Didn't Care to Solve Biggie, Tupac Murder Cases
Kirkus has reviewed a book, to be released in July, by the former lead detective in the NYPD's "Rap Intelligence Unit."
Derrick Parker's Notorious C.O.P.: The Inside Story of the Tupac, Biggie, and Jam Master Jay Investigations from NYPD's First 'Hip-Hop Cop'
will be released by St. Martin's Press in June.
In the book, Kirkus says, the author "believes both these cases [Tupac Shakur's and Notorious B.I.G.] were solvable, but bungled by the police?a common theme to which Parker returns throughout the book, giving the impression that he was often fighting a lone battle against hip-hop-related crime."
