The numbers lined up for
New York Times puzzle masters Will Shortz and Peter Ritmeester as their book,
Sudoku Easy Presented by Will Shortz Volume 1: 100 Wordless Crossword Puzzles, sold more than 14,000 units last week. The book landed at No. 5 on the Nonfiction Chart, making it the first
time a Su Doku book has cracked the Overall Nonfiction Top 5. Shortz, the only person to have a college degree in Enigmatolgy, or the study of puzzles, was featured at Newsweek.com on Feb. 23, discussing Su Doku. "I think a lot of people are doing it now because it's cool," Shortz said, before following up his observation with a?puzzling?qualification saying that while he believes the Su Doku craze "won't last forever," he thinks "Sudoku is like the crossword puzzle?it's going to be here forever." We give up, Will.
