Cascade Designs to Appoint New President in May
Seattle--Lee Fromson, chief operating officer of Cascade Designs, is expected to be named the company's new president at its May shareholder meeting.
John Burroughs, the company's co-founder and president, said he would nominate Fromson for the position so he can take a less active role. Burroughs said
he plans to become "chief software architect" and pursue software engineering projects for Cascade Designs.
"I have spent a fair amount of my time working on software tools we have used since the beginning of the company," Burroughs said, noting that his background is in electrical engineering.
Before launching Cascade Designs in 1972, he worked for Boeing for 23 years designing automated control systems (i.e. airplane autopilot systems and automated factory systems).
Fromson is already playing a significant role in running the company, Burroughs said, and was instrumental in the company's acquisition of MSR last year. He has worked for the company since 1982.
