New York—Consumers polled for the Luxury Institute's 2007 Luxury Brand Status Index rated IWC watches the highest among luxury watch brands.

Vacheron Constantin ranked second and Patek Philippe ranked third.

Other brands rated, in alphabetical order, include: Audemars Piguet, Baume and Mercier, Blancpain, Boucheron, Breguet, Breitling, Bulgari, Cartier, Chopard, Dior, Dunhill, Ebel, Franck Muller, Girard-Perregaux, Harry Winston, Hermes, Jaeger-LeCoultre, Longines, Louis Vuitton, Montblanc, Movado, Omega, Piaget, Rado, Rolex, TAG Heuer, Tiffany and Van Cleef and Arpels.

The Luxury Brand Status Index uses the Internet to poll a nationally representative sample of ultra-wealthy consumers. Respondents have a minimum household income of $200,000 and a minimum household net worth of $5 million. Results are then weighted to meet the demographic and net-worth profile of the equivalent audience according to the latest Survey of Consumer Finances from The Federal Reserve.

The Luxury Institute provides publications and research that guides and educates high-net-worth individuals and the companies that cater to them. Publications include the monthly Wealth Report, the Luxury Brand Status Index surveys, the Luxury Best Practices surveys, the Luxury Consumer Experience Index surveys and the Luxury Website Effectiveness Index surveys.
