St. Louis—Police have arrested five Latin American men suspected of robbing traveling jewelry salespeople in the St. Louis area, a local news program reports.

My Fox St. Louis reports authorities have linked the men to five different robberies in the region where

millions of dollars in jewels were taken. Court documents show the alleged thieves preyed on salespeople as they left stores in Frontenac and Town and Country, My Fox reports.

Authorities have not yet charged the men regarding the robberies.

Jewelers Security Alliance (JSA) President John Kennedy confirmed that authorities have made several arrests in connection with the robberies of traveling jewelry salespeople in the St. Louis area. He did not have additional information on the arrests at press time.

In August, the JSA issued warnings for traveling jewelry salespeople in Missouri to remain alert for "gypsy gangs." Six attacks on traveling jewelry salespeople by South American gang members occurred from January to August, according to the JSA.
