Absolute Bikes Helps Local Charity

FLAGSTAFF, AZ—When the day was done, 85 Arizona riders had put in 110 miles and raised more than $4,000 for a recently opened hospitality house. Retailer Ken Lane, owner of Absolute Bikes, spearheaded the First Annual Taylor House Benefit Century Ride on July 21. The Taylor House provides lodging for people whose family members are receiving treatment at the Flagstaff Medical Center. The Century carried riders over miles of rural and interstate highways across the high-plains desert of northern Arizona. Lane and others designed the ride to create an endowment fund for lodging at the Taylor House. More than 15 Taylor House volunteers spread out over the ride course to hand out refreshments from Café Express restaurant, The Pink Pastry Bakery, Albertson's Grocery and Late for the Train Coffeehouse. "We hope that this annual event continues to grow, in terms of participation, every year. We are very excited to be able to work alongside the Taylor House—it is an excellent organization that provides a critical service to our community," Lane said.
