BOULDER, CO (BRAIN)--Over 200 fitters and experts from around the world have converged on the Boulderado Hotel for the first Cycling Science Symposium and Expo (CSSE). The event began on Sunday, Jan. 21, and continues through tomorrow.
Monday's keynote speakers included
Jeff Broker, PhD, Dan Heil, PhD, and Max Testa, MD. Retailers, academics, health care professionals, coaches and industry people have created a mix unique in the annals of bike world gatherings.
“This is not just a ‘listen and learn’ event by any means,” said Ray Browning of the Serotta International Cycling Institute (SICI). Browning organized the event and also presented a breakout session on functional anatomy for cyclists yesterday. “The day-to-day experiences of fitters in shops, when combined with the knowledge of the academics, gives us the complete picture we need to make even more progress in the future.”
Today's keynote speakers include Andy Pruitt EdD, Steve Schrader PhD and Rick Neptune, PhD, as well as continuing breakout sessions with Todd Carver, Kathy Krumme, Kelly Bedford, Christopher Kautz and Katrina Vogel on topics as diverse as custom bike design, triathlon position, pedal/foot interface, advanced bike fit technology and bike fit marketing.
