Bike Shop Owner Named Ernst & Young Entrepreneur of the Year

BLOOMINGTON, MN (BRAIN)—Erik Saltvold, chief executive officer and founder of Erik’s Bike Shop, received the Ernst & Young Entrepreneur of the Year 2006 Award in the Consumer Product category in the Minnesota and Dakotas regional program. According to Ernst & Young, the award recognizes outstanding

entrepreneurs who are building and leading dynamic and growing businesses.

Saltvold was selected by an independent panel of judges, and the award was presented at an Ernst & Young Entrepreneur of the Year 20th anniversary gala event last month.

“I am sincerely honored to receive this prestigious business award, considering the successful entrepreneurs who were nominated,” said Saltvold. “Our staff's hard work and dedication played an integral part in the growth and success that we have enjoyed. Erik's Bike Shop would not have been recognized without their efforts in providing exceptional service to every customer, every time.”

As a Minnesota and Dakotas award winner, Saltvold is now eligible for consideration for the Ernst & Young Entrepreneur Of The Year 2006 national program. Award winners in several national categories, as well as the overall national Ernst & Young Entrepreneur Of The Year award winner, will be announced at the annual awards gala in Palm Springs, California, on Nov. 18. The overall national Entrepreneur of the Year award recipient is then considered for the world event held in Monte Carlo.
