Spot Brand under New Ownership, Relocates to Colorado
GOLDEN, CO (BRAIN)—Spot Brand Components, Inc., manufacturer of singlespeed bicycles, components and cycling clothing, is operating under new ownership. The company also relocated its world headquarters to Golden, Colorado, on May 15.
Founded in 1997 by Michael Golinski,
Jessica Stein and Lewis Stein, Spot Brand previously operated out of Vancouver, British Columbia. Over the past nine years, Spot Brand developed a strong, brand-loyal customer base and a worldwide distribution network.
Industry veteran Frank Scurlock, formerly of Maverick and RockShox, will now lead the company.
Jessica and Lewis Stein will continue to work with Spot Brand, consulting with the new management team to evolve Spot’s growing line of soft goods. Michael Golinski will be moving on to pursue other interests.
The new incarnation of Spot will manufacture and market products exclusively under the Spot Brand name. “We’ll continue to offer innovative singlespeed products, and keep them exciting and fresh,” said Scurlock. “There’s a very strong niche of bike enthusiasts who enjoy riding singlespeeds and changing it up a little bit, and they appreciate well-designed gear and clothing. We’re going to keep them happy.”
