COSTA MESA, CA (BRAIN)—Mike Basch of YaYa Bike, Brett Flemming of The Bike Gallery, and business consultant Dan Mann will be among the featured speakers at the NBDA’s first Regional Seminar in Atlanta next month.
“It’s a management-oriented event specifically for dealers
with the goal of improving their business, profitability and efficiency. It will give them ideas to integrate into their store to become more efficient and see new ways to profit,” said Michael Baker, marketing and communications director for the NBDA.
NBDA executive director Fred Clements will kick off the one-day seminar with a review of the 2005 bicycle sales year and a look at emerging trends based on import statistics and the latest NBDA retail study.
Dan Thornton of Free Flite Bicycles in Marietta, Georgia, will provide a brief update on the progress made by the North Georgia Bicycle Dealers Association. Mike Basch, chief executive officer of YaYa Bike will present a management system based on key business indicators. Brett Flemming, corporate service and training manager for the Bike Gallery, in Portland, Oregon, will share practices and concepts to improve service department profitability.
Following a networking lunch, business consultant Dan Mann will lead three sessions covering selecting and hiring employees, creating job roles and motivating people. Each session will include presentation, role-playing and workshop.
The Atlanta seminar will be held Friday, Nov. 18, at the Doubletree Hotel Atlanta-Buckhead. The Chicago seminar, on Friday, Dec. 9, at the Sheraton Gateway Suites Chicago O'Hare, will have a similar agenda with its own regional content.
