MORGAN HILL, CA (BRAIN)—Specialized continues to hone its retail services department, developing a line of fixtures and signage, and hiring full-time time staff for the category. Specialized promoted inside salesman Joseph Wheadon to retail services project manager.
Specialized
hired Sea Otter co-founder Rick Sutton earlier this year as vice president of retailer services. Retail mogul and Supergo founder Alan Goldsmith recently departed Specialized after a nine-month consulting stint creating the new Specialized concept retail store format, fixtures and other ingredients.
In tandem with the retail merchandizing efforts, Specialized has moved forward with its concept stores, signing 12 retailers up for the program.
Unlike Trek’s concept stores that require more than 80 percent Trek product on the floor, Specialized’s concept stores don’t have a single, fixed agreement.
Last month at its dealer show in Santa Cruz, Specialized launched its store fixtures program, which it will be exhibiting at Interbike.
