Trek Signs Partnership Deal With Emer'gen-C Maker

MADISON, WI (BRAIN)--Trek Bicycles is now selling Emer'gen-C Vitamin C and other vitamin drink mixes to its dealers, thanks to a distribution deal with mix maker Alacer Corporation.

Trek will distribute Alacer products like Emer'gen-C drink mixes, Electro-Mix and Power

For Joints Mix. In return, Alacer sponsoring Trek's mountain bike and regional road teams and its demo programs.

"The deal gives us the opportunity to merge with a nationally recognized nutritional brand that is easy, enjoyable and healthy to use. Besides monies to the team, the deal provides a great cross-promotional avenue for both companies as we both seek active, healthy consumers, yet we pursue different paths to find and capture them," said Zapata Espinoza, Trek's brand manager.

Emer'gen-C is sold nationwide by natural and whole-foods stores and sporting goods outlets.

Espinoza said currently there are no plans for future product developments or co-branding between the two companies.
