Jonathan Boyer Pleads Guilty Of Child Molestation
Boyer likely will be put on probation for the offenses, which carried a maximum penalty of 22 years in state prison. Judge Gary Meyer ruled that Boyer is eligible for probation, dependent upon a successful psychological review and probation report. The judge set a sentencing date for Oct. 31.
Boyer is out on $300,000 bail, which he posted during his arraignment in late July. He could not be reached for comment.
If the judge finds Boyer ineligible for probation at the October hearing, he would face a maximum of one year in prison for each count. Boyer could then withdraw his guilty plea and the case would move to trial with a jury.
The victim's name has not been released. She brought the charges against Boyer in October 2001, alleging that he repeatedly sexually molested her between 1997 and 2000. The girl was 11 when the alleged molestation began.
Boyer owns Boyer Sports, a bike shop in Marina, California.
