Electric Wheels Partners With Merida

SAN JOSE, CA (BRAIN)--Electric Wheels International (EWI) is the exclusive USA distributor for Merida electric bicycles. EWI will work exclusively with specialty retailers to build its Merida dealer base, said Gary Coffrin, EWI' s president and founder.

"I started my own bicycle store at age 23 and have been in the industry ever since. I understand how important proper assembly is to a customer' s positive riding experience. That' s why we work only with specialty retailers and don' t sell electric bicycles on the Internet," he said.

EWI marketing manager Matt Serafini said advances in motor and battery technology have made higher performance levels in electric bikes more affordable." We can now offer dealers full 40 percent margins on a quality Merida electric bike with a suggested retail of $700," Serafini said.
