Pedro's Helps Dominican Republic Junior Cycling Team
WILMINGTON, MA (BRAIN)--Pedro's and a CCB International, a New England road team, recycled more than $10,000 worth of used bicycle parts and sent them to a junior development cycling team in the Dominican Republic.
"We are always glad to help out less supported riders,"
said Pedro's Karl Wiedemann.
With the low annual income of most Dominicans, quality bike parts are hard to come by, said CCB rider Steve Pucci, who came up with the idea of sending the junior team used components.
Pedro's and CCB collected parts from the 50 CCB riders and its staff. Wiedemann estimated that more than $10,000 worth of components was sent.
