Integrated Software Solutions Inc. (ISS) has combined its TouchPointMobile application with
Fujitsu's TeamPad mobile platform, creating a wireless solution that can help customers anywhere
in the store with price lookup, checkout and real-time credit-card verification.
ISS' TouchPointMobile, using a Java development environment, XML/XSL standards and based on Windows CE technology, is a new browser-based application. The application is fully integrated into the enterprise and by using the TeamPad 500 outfitted with a scanner,
magnetic-stripe reader and printer, employees can perform a number of customer/client-assisted procedures real-time as well as accessing up-to-the-minute reports needed to stay abreast of all the day's activities.
"Fujitsu's versatile TeamPad mobile computers are the ideal platform for TouchPointMobile," says Barry Henderson, vice president of application development of ISS. "Designed for wireless, networked applications, Fujitsu TeamPads are easy for mobile workers to learn and operate because they support the familiar Windows CE environment, and their versatility makes them easily adaptable for a wide variety of uses."
