Change of leadership at Witschi Electronic AG Büren
After 60 years of successful business activity, the owners of Witschi Electronic AG transfer the ownership of the company to two members of the current management. The company is considered the world’s leading manufacturer of innovative measuring and testing equipment for the watchmaking industry.
Witschi Electronic AG is a company of high renown in measuring and testing technologies with 65 employees working at its headquarters in Büren (Switzerland). It has a subsidiary in Romania and sales companies in Hong Kong and in the USA. The company was founded in 1947 by Paul Witschi and has been owned by the Witschi family down to the present day. After 60 years of successful business activity, owners Paul, Friedrich and Christian Witschi are now transferring the company’s ownership to Andreas Bläsi and Daniel Hug within the scope of a succession agreement. Both are members of the current management team.
Andreas Bläsi is a business economist and has been responsible for the company’s operative management since 1998. Daniel Hug, a graduated microtechnology engineer, has headed the development division since 1999. The new owners have founded a holding company, Fintech AG, that will acquire all shares of Witschi Electronic AG. The company Witschi Electronic AG will continue its business under the same name.The boards of directors of Fintech AG and Witschi Electronic AG will be newly structured. The new members of the board are: Andreas Bläsi, Daniel Hug, and Friedrich Witschi. Paul and Christian Witschi resign from the board of directors of Witschi Electronic AG.
The succession agreement will ensure the continuing autonomy and independence of the company in the future. Friedrich Witschi comments: “All parties are confident that the agreement will safeguard the future of the company in the long term and make it possible to successfully continue the excellent and long-standing business relations built up in the past.”
