Born and raised in Niles, Mich., Rich Mione started his convenience store career in 1973 as a store manager with Open Pantry Food Stores Inc. Since then, he has served in a number of capacities ?from supervisor to division manager to director of operations, category manager and vice president of marketing
? for a number of chains, including Crown Central Petroleum Inc.'s Fast Fare chain, Hop In Food Stores and Suwannee Swifty.
Mione joined Worsley Companies Inc. in 1996 as director of marketing for its Scotchman Stores chain, which operates 112 units in the Carolinas. Now serving as president of the South Carolina Association of Convenience Stores, Mione has been a member of the Convenience Store News Advisory Board for 11 years.
He and his wife Kathy have a daughter, Jessica.
