Not surprisingly, foodservice purchases are generally made by adults around standard meal hours, with lunch being the most likely time to make such a purchase. Roughly one in four adult c-store shoppers who had made foodservice purchases had made their last purchase between 11 a.m. and 1 p.m., and another
one in five did so between 4 p.m. and 7 p.m.
Adults were most likely to make these purchases around the lunchtime hour regardless of age, with one exception: 40- to 54-year-olds were slightly more inclined to buy foodservice at the dinner hour, between 4 p.m. and 7 p.m. Youngest adults were those most likely to buy foodservice during the evening hours between 7 p.m. and 10 p.m., and were far less likely than their older counterparts to make these purchases in the early-morning breakfast hours.
