Irving Oil Donates $20,000 to Tsunami Relief

PORTSMOUTH, N.H. -- Irving Oil Corp. customers and employees have raised $20,000 to support the American Red Cross tsunami disaster relief fund. The company is also offering its support to partnering doctors for travel overseas to provide treatment through Irving's Fuel the Care program.

In January, Irving Mainway locations and offices in New England began a two-week campaign that made it easier for customers and employees to support those affected by the tsunami crisis in Southeast Asia.

Customers were given the opportunity to donate to the Red Cross at approximately 130 Irving Mainway locations in New Hampshire, Massachusetts, Maine and Vermont. The funds raised will be used by the American Red Cross to provide immediate disaster assistance and long-term relief in Southeast Asia.

"We knew our customers and employees were saddened by the tsunami crisis, and this campaign allowed us to get involved and help in a meaningful way," says Harry Hadiaris, Irving Oil's director of convenience retail. "Our Mainways and offices were busy with customers and employees offering donations to support those affected by the disaster. We'd like to say a big thank you to our employees and our customers whose generosity made it possible for us to support the American Red Cross and those in South and Southeast Asia and Africa."
