For the Cosentino family the supermarket business is like a fine art that is constantly being perfected. Considering their background, that passion should come as no surprise. Dante and Jerry Cosentino's father, Dante Sr., was a fine artist who specialized in painting cathedral interiors. In 1948 a picturesque
fruit market caught his eye, and he decided to buy it for his sons. They moved in above the shop and began running the business, and the rest is, shall we say, art history. Today the Cosentinos operate 22 stores in the Kansas City area, including their newest format, Cosentino's Market in Brookside.
