America's Second Harvest gains exec

Leading hunger relief organization America's Second Harvest has tapped Ertharin Cousin, formerly s.v.p. of public affairs at Albertsons, Inc., to the position of c.o.o. and e.v.p. In her new role Cousin will have direct reporting

responsibilities for America's Second Harvest's food and logistics operations. Prior to her seven-year tenure at Albertsons, Cousin worked in the Clinton administration for four years, first with the Democratic National Committee, then as White House Liaison for the U.S. Department of State.

Kroger chairman to retire

Joseph A. Pichler, chairman of the Kroger Co.'s board of directors, plans to retire from the company this June. The board said it will elect David B. Dillon, Kroger's c.e.o., to the additional position of chairman on Pichler's retirement. Pichler served as chairman and c.e.o. from 1990 until 2003, when Dillon was appointed c.e.o.

AG New England names president

The board of directors of Associated Grocers of New England has named Michael Bourgoine president and announced that Norman J. Turcotte, president and c.e.o., plans to retire from the company. Bourgoine has been and will continue to be c.o.o. of the New Hampshire-based regional wholesale grocery distributor. Turcotte became a full-time employee at AG New England in 1968 and was named president in 1977, following in the footsteps of his father, Henry J. Turcotte, who led AG New England for the previous 30 years. He will continue his role as c.e.o. until his retirement this summer.
