Both women and men in the industry have joined the Network of Executive Women: Consumer Products and Food Retail Industry (NEW) to promote diversity in the workplace. The group was formed a year ago with the mission to attract, retain, and advance women in the industry through education, leadership,
and business development. Its membership, now in the hundreds, includes retailers, wholesalers, suppliers, industry associations, and members of the media.
