If you think your store is the last place on earth that needs an ATM machine—think again. Wells Fargo and MasterCard International recently installed two kiosks at McMurdo Station, the U.S. base in Antarctica. Talk about convenience—not to mention a captive
audience—the next closest machine is 2,500 miles away. Residents of the station, which is virtually locked in for six months a year, don't have to buy groceries. But they can use the cash for the continent's two bars and coffee houses.
