SAN FRANCISCO - Community-based independent Mollie Stone's Markets plans to deploy new Web-based price optimization software to help generate demand and better analyze item movement.

The retailer will use Sacramento, Calif.-based Revionics' price optimization software.

Revionics offers retailers and distributors as a weekly subscription model over the Internet.

"Revionics Price Optimization service provides tremendous value," said Mike Stone, owner of Mollie Stones. "The price of every item is optimized each week, allowances are more easily managed and the visibility we'll have into our product selection and its movement will greatly improve our category management."

Mollie Stone's operates eight supermarkets in the San Francisco Bay Area, including: Sausalito, Greenbrae, San Francisco (Pacific Heights and Tower Market), Palo Alto, Burlingame, San Mateo, and San Bruno.
