Kroger to Repair Engines Damaged by Gasoline Mix-Up
CINCINNATI -- The Kroger Co. will pay for engine repairs for motorists who filled up their tanks at a gas station in New Haven, Ind. where diesel fuel was accidentally mixed with gasoline, according to local reports.
The fuel mix-up resulted when crews refilled the
underground tanks Monday morning, a Kroger spokeswoman said, adding that the chain would pay for repairs at a local auto dealer.
Customers began calling the gas station on Tuesday morning to report problems with their vehicles after they had filled up their tanks with either diesel fuel, mid-grade, or regular gasoline. Customers who filled up with premium gasoline weren't affected.
