Publix Planning New Fla. DC at Charlotte County Airport
LAKELAND, Fla. – Publix Super Markets is finalizing a deal to build a 600,000-square-foot distribution center at Charlotte County Airport in Florida, according to published reports.
Charlotte County is located on the Gulf coast of Florida, 50 miles south of Sarasota.
Representatives from Publix and Charlotte County government are expected to finalize a deal for Publix to buy about 87 acres at the county airport this summer, according to reports. The property is priced at $7.67 million.
Publix currently owns eight distribution centers. Seven are in Florida, and one is in Lawrenceville, Ga., a suburb of Atlanta.
