Associated Grocers of Maine Marks $6M Warehouse Expansion

GARDNER, Maine -- Associated Grocers of Maine here is holding an open house today to celebrate the completion of its warehouse expansion project. The company is providing tours of the warehouse at 11:30 a.m., 12:30 p.m., and 1:30 p.m., in addition to light refreshments.

The $6 million renovation added 41,000 square feet of cooler and frozen storage space, enlarged the cooler dock area, and replaced the overall warehouse aging refrigeration system. In addition to enhancing operational efficiencies, the expansion enables AG of Maine to increase its perishables assortment (produce, meat, deli/bakery, and frozen food) and move into a stronger position for future growth in the region.

AG of Maine is the only remaining "full-service" wholesale grocery distributor based in Maine, serving independent retailers in Maine, Vermont, New Hampshire, Massachusetts, and Rhode Island.
