Rite Aid Launches Online Photo Processing
CAMP HILL, Pa. -- Pharmacy chain Rite Aid yesterday launched a digital photo processing service in which consumers can upload and edit digital images on the retailer's Web site and pick up prints at 800 Rite Aid stores on the West Coast and in Harrisburg, Pa. in one hour. The chain plans to roll out
this technology to an additional 700 stores in New York City, Philadelphia, Cleveland, Detroit, and Portland, Maine by the end of the year.
"This new service offers our customers a convenient way to get digital prints quickly at any Rite Aid across the country," said Bryan Shirtliff, s.v.p. of category management. "Customers do not need to register or become a member on our site; they can simply upload and edit their pictures on any computer with Internet access and then pick them up in just one hour at a nearby Rite Aid store."
Two new one-time-use digital cameras are also now available at the West Coast and Harrisburg stores, as well. The one-time-use digital camera with delete feature ($9.99) allows customers to take digital photos and delete any unwanted shots. The one-time-use digital camera with picture preview ($19.99) allows customers to preview each picture on a screen and delete any unwanted shots. Both cameras include red eye removal, auto flash, and a self-timer.
Rite Aid Corp. is has annual revenues of $16.8 billion and approximately 3,350 stores in 28 states and the District of Columbia.
