Publix and Dress For Success Cleaners Launch 'Klothes For Kids' Clothes Drive

LAKELAND, Fla. –- Publix Super Markets here is teaming up with Santa Ana, Calif.-based Dress For Success Cleaners (DFS), operator of in-store dry-cleaning and laundry operations, to launch

a "Klothes For Kids" clothes drive for needy children affected by the recent hurricanes in the Southeast, DFS said yesterday.

DFS said it recently completed a successful "Klothes For Kids" drive in partnership with Pittsburgh-based Giant Eagle, Inc., in which over 14,000 garments were collected and donated to local charities.

"Klothes For Kids" is a community-based clothes drive to benefit children in need. The program will be available Oct. 21 to Nov. 17 at 15 Publix supermarkets in Orlando, Fla. that offer Dress For Success Cleaners in-store dry-cleaning services. Customers will be able to donate new clothes and "gently used" jackets and sweaters that will be cleaned at no charge and donated to the Salvation Army.

"This hurricane season has been devastating, and displaced several families to other communities," said Dwaine Stevens, media and community relations manager for Publix, in a statement. "We hope this event will bring some comfort to the lives of these children and their families."
