PetsMart Taps Former HEB C.I.O.

PHEONIX -- Pet supplies retailer PetsMart, Inc. here has appointed Donald E. Beaver to the position of s.v.p. and c.i.o, effective today. Beaver was most recently s.v.p. and c.i.o. at H.E. Butt Grocery Co. in San Antonio, Texas.

Beaver will lead all aspects of business information development for PetsMart, including supply chain, financial, marketing, and store operations systems. He replaces David King, who left the company earlier this year.

Beaver joined H-E-B in 1999. Previously he served 14 years at Allied Signal Aerospace, Inc., where he became v.p. and c.i.o. of the marketing, sales, and service division. Beaver began his career at Eastman Kodak, where he was a programmer analyst.

Beaver is a pet parent to two cats, Carly and Chloe, according to the statement issued by PetsMart.

PetsMart operates more than 725 pet stores in the United States and Canada, as well as selling products through a catalog business and online.
