Fleming Names Jim Thatcher President, Fleming IGA

DALLAS - Fleming has appointed industry veteran Jim Thatcher to serve as president of Fleming IGA. In this new role, Thatcher will be responsible for leading Fleming's support of more than 600 IGA retail locations supplied by the company. Thatcher reports to Mark Hansen, Fleming chairman and CEO.

"Fleming is proud to serve more IGA retailers than any other distributor in the country," said Thatcher. "IGA retailers represent an important part of our legacy and remains a keystone of our distribution business today. I am pleased to have this opportunity, in coordination with our distribution centers, to serve the needs of our Fleming-supplied IGA retailers."

IGA Chairman and CEO Dr. Thomas Haggai said, "Fleming today is a key partner to IGA, serving hundreds of independent IGA supermarkets. We are pleased that Jim will be adding his talents and focus to Fleming's support of the IGA family of owners and operators."

Most recently, Thatcher has served Fleming as president, Southern operations for Fleming Retail. He joined Fleming in 1997 as president for the company's Utah Food 4 Less stores. Thatcher previously served as VP, operations for Kash-N-Karry, a subsidiary of Food Lion, and spent 21 years with Albertson's.
