Albertson's Inc. has expanded its full-service online grocery ordering and shopping operation to San Diego County residents. Customers now have the option of home delivery or convenient pick-up of their grocery order. Albertson's already offers the service to customers in the Seattle area.

"We're really proud of the success Albertsons.com has achieved in Seattle and we anticipate a strong response in San Diego," said Charla Giles, vice president of the San Diego area Albertson's. "Customers who have come to trust Albertson's for low prices and exceptional products now have online access to all the fresh produce, premium meats, deli items, and fresh-baked goods they find in our stores."

At Albertsons.com, customers can order any item available in an Albertson's store. The order is forwarded to one of the company's five local fulfillment stores where it is checked and fulfilled by a personal "e-shopper." Orders placed by 10 a.m. will available for pickup after 5 p.m.; those placed by midnight will be available for pick-up or delivery the following day. The cost is $9.95 for door-to-door service, and $5.95 for pick-up.
