The largest pork producer in the United States, Smithfield Foods, has announced that it has made a supply deal with Foodbuy, a purchasing and data management company. Financial terms of the three year deal, which will see Smithfield supplying food for a variety of food services, were not disclosed. Operating companies of food service and hospitality company Compass Group, of which Foodbuy is the procurement division, will serve Smithfield products in corporate dining rooms, cafeterias, education establishments and military, healthcare, sports and entertainment facilities.
