Western Sizzlin Explores Fast-Casual Steak

Family steakhouse operator Western Sizzlin Corp. is eyeing the development of a fast-casual steak concept, it said yesterday.
The company, which operates a namesake brand and the Great American Buffet concept, didn't provide details about the project.
Western Sizzlin also said it will open a new prototype that will be smaller than its current box, with an abbreviated menu. It will aim for a $10 per-person ticket average, the company said.
Western Sizzlin operates and franchises more than 150 restaurants in 20 states.
