Cousins Subs is bringing back a limited-time sandwich that struck a chord with customers during the company's 30th anniversary fete last year.
The Chicken Cheddar Deluxe is made with sliced chicken breast, cheddar cheese, bacon, mayonnaise, lettuce, onions, and tomatoes,
on Cousins' signature Italian, wheat, or parmesan/asiago bread. It will be available through February.
"To say we were surprised by customer demand for this product is an understatement," said VP of marketing Larry Weissman. "We realize that this sandwich, which was expected to be a one-time offer, quickly became a favorite."
Other LTOs on the horizon are rye bread and Swiss cheese, which Cousins says it will offer in sandwich combos like ham and Swiss and turkey breast and Swiss within the next two months.
"The introduction of rye bread and Swiss cheese is in line with our current strategy of increasing the number of new limited time only products to the Cousins menu," said Weissman.
What's more, the sub chain said it will also launch a new line of salads this spring, made with romaine, iceberg, and leaf lettuces, in Garden, Chef, Italian, and Chicken Breast variations.
