McDonald's in Southern California are rolling out three new sourdough products, a move aimed at Jack In the Box and Carl's Jr., who have long had sourdough sandwiches.
The new products, which are available today for a limited time, include the Sourdough Supreme Burger,
Sourdough Crispy Chicken Sandwich, Breakfast Sourdough Sandwich and Strawberry Cheesecake. The sandwiches are priced between $2-$3.
It was unclear whether the sourdough sandwiches are in test or are a short-term traffic booster. Neal Ruby, president of the McDonald's association in L.A., says the chain's New Tastes Menu helped facilitate the experiment with sourdough.
