COMPANY PROFILE

The Anderson name has been linked with fine hardwoods for more than 65 years, manufacturing engineered flooring with Cross,Locked Engineered plies, alternating the grain structure of five separate wood layers. L.W. "Andy" Anderson, company founder, was a pioneer in this technology,

which ensures both durability and stability. Andy Anderson founded Standard Plywoods Inc., the predecessor and parent company to Anderson Hardwood Floors, in 1946, and he purchased its current manufacturing plant in Clinton, S.C., in 1958. The company's first products were parquet blocks for use in post-World War II homes with poured concrete floors; further experience and experimentation led to the development of longer-length planks that had the same durability and stability as block floors.

Much of Anderson's success over the years is attributable to its consistent and longstanding commitment to quality products and managerial continuity. A family-owned business from its inception, Anderson is now in its thud generation of family management.

Among Anderson's "firsts": First to introduce engineered hardwood flooring as an alternate to solid hardwood floors; first to introduce filled, UV-cured, urethane finish on engineered hardwood flooring; first to introduce an aluminum-oxide finish on engineered hardwood flooring; and first to introduce handcrafted flooring on a production basis, including hand-scraped, hand-distressed, hand-sanded and hand-rubbed. Anderson also holds a patent for glueless, locking hardwood flooring design and installation,
