Baselworld 2007 expects increased attendance
Organizers of the Baselworld watch and jewelry show expect about 2,100 exhibitors and more than 95,000 visitors to attend the 2007 fair, slated for April 12-19, based on early registration.
"Our endeavors to present the entire world of jewellery (sic.) industry in Basel
have been successful once again," Show Director Sylvie Ritter said in a statement.
Last year, the show drew a record 94,200 visitors from more than 100 countries.
In addition to watches, show organizers tout Baselworld's jewelry offerings in First Avenue in the Hall of Visions and in a newly positioned Hall of Feelings, and the show's diamond and gemstone offerings in the Hall of Elements.
These efforts symbolize the show organizer's continued interest in building Baselworld's status following the departure of many of the country's swankest watch brands to Geneva's competing show, the Salon International de la Haute Horlogerie.
