The Prime Jewelry Group (PJG), an organization of 30 leading jewelry manufacturers, has expanded its 2003 show schedule to include four cities: Houston; Valley Forge, Pa.; Falls Church, Va.; and Dearborn, Mich. The shows are designed to offer a secure business environment for traveling salespeople and

their customers.

"Last year alone, $50,000,000 was stolen from traveling salespeople in our industry," said Carol Young, executive director of the Southern Jewelry Travelers Association (SJTA), which produces and manages PJG events. "PJG initially approached us to help combat statistics like these by creating a unique sales environment that would offer a safer alternative for traveling salespeople, and a comfortable and private setting for their customers to view complete lines and place orders."

The invitation-only events take place over the course of two days. Select retailers are invited to the exclusive showings, where they are given complimentary meals and cocktails.

The Houston show will take place at the Intercontinental Hotel on Sept. 14-15. The Valley Forge show will be held at the Radisson Hotel on Sept. 21-22. The Falls Church show will be held at the Marriott Fairview Park on Oct. 12-13, and the Dearborn show will take place at the Ritz Carlton Dearborn on Oct. 19-20.
