Fairchild Is Sold to Condé Nast

Condé Nast, publisher of Vogue, Brides, Vanity Fair, Architectural Digest and a host of other consumer fashion and lifestyle magazines that have become important names in jewelers' advertising budgets, will assume control of such Fairchild publications as W and Women's Wear Daily.
The terms of the sale were undisclosed and are subject to regulatory approval. Condé Nast is owned by Advance, with is controlled by the famous publishing Newhouse Family.
Fairchild was owned by the Walt Disney Co.
