DELRAY BEACH, FL -- Office Depot recently won the Gold Award for its Big Book July to December 2003 catalog in the Office Supplies, Furniture and Stationery category of
Catalog Age magazine's 19th Annual Catalog Awards. The winners of the 19th Annual Catalog Awards and the 5th Annual Merchant
Awards were presented by
Catalog Age magazine and the Direct Marketing Association at their Annual Catalog Conference in Chicago on May 5.
Catalog veterans judged over 300 entries, in 24 categories, to determine 60 finalists for "true marketing excellence." Catalogs were evaluated on several key areas, including messaging, ease of navigation, overall design quality and customer experience. Quantitative results including sales volume were also considered.
"We are thrilled to be honored by
Catalog Age with this award for our Big Book," said Alicia Prokos, vp of direct marketing for Office Depot. "Since the Big Book's inception in 2000, we have continually worked to enable a seamless shopping experience for our customers and see this award a testament to that dedication."
The catalog features more than 15,000 office supply, technology and furniture items and serves as company's signature direct mail piece and profit driver for the direct business. It is a long-life reference vehicle and serves as the foundation for multi-channel purchasing decisions.
In North America, Office Depot has 900 retail stores.
